The best month for exercise was January, with 900 minutes and the worst was August, with zero. (We didn’t have a home the first 14 days, and once we got one, we were away from home most of the rest of the month.) June and July were also lousy, due mainly to job-hunting travel, and September there was no excuse except that I refused to use the Gazelle any more now that we had a real house. My goal for 2007 is to make that 8000 minutes, or about 21 minutes a night.

Number of TV shows on DVD watched: 9 different series, including Lost (two discs from season 1 for 8 episodes), 24 (one episode from season 1 and then another from season 3 in the hope that it got better over time, but it didn’t), Star Trek: the Original Series (two episodes from season 1), and a handful of others, plus lots of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, seasons 2-3, and all 14 episodes of Firefly.

Number of movies watched on DVD: 68 in total, 31 new and 37 old. Some of the old movies are things I fall back on whenever I can’t find anything interesting new to watch (director’s commentaries and other odd bits and pieces of the Lord of the Rings trilogy box sets, for example) and others I’d seen before but not lately (e.g., Westworld, which I don’t think I’ve seen since the 1970s). Of the 31 new movies, 25 were good enough to complete, and 5 were so bad I gave up without finishing. For the record, this hall of shame includes:

Superman Returns

Bridget Jones’ Diary II

Sin City

Escape From New York

Touch of Evil

Plan 9 from Outer Space

Obviously I didn’t have high hopes for Plan 9 or Escape from NY, but this was the 2nd time I tried Touch of Evil, and another defeat.

As you know, I live a sedentary lifestyle; the only exercise I get is on my elliptical trainer at night, when I also watch movies (and occasionally TV shows) on the DVD player.
