(Sigh.)<\/p>\n<p>There are four <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcusa.org\/exams\/ordination.htm\">Ordination Exams<\/a>. (Five, if you count the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcusa.org\/exams\/bible.htm\">Bible Content Exam<\/a>.) I passed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lpts.edu\/Academic_Resources\/ASC\/WorshipandSacramentsExam.asp\">Worship &#038; Sacraments<\/a>, flunked <strong>Biblical Language Exegesis<\/strong>. So I&#8217;m 50% happy. Or even 75% happy, since I had previously passed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lpts.edu\/Academic_Resources\/ASC\/PolityExam.asp\">Polity<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lpts.edu\/Academic_Resources\/ASC\/TheologicalCompetenceExam.asp\">theology<\/a>. (Indeed, 80%, counting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitneyhq.com\/biblecontent\/\">Bible Content Exam<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>In a week or two I will get the actual exams back so I can see what the readers didn&#8217;t like about them.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, here are some preliminary lessons learned.<\/p>\n<p>1. don&#8217;t forget the Calvin quote this time<br \/>\n2. translate Hebrew rather than Greek<br \/>\n3. use a lesson plan rather than a sermon outline<br \/>\n4. endorse the conventional wisdom<br \/>\n5. preach it<\/p>\n<p>(While I&#8217;m linking to things, here&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lpts.edu\/Content\/Documents\/OrdExams.pdf\">mongo PDF<\/a> with all the old exams.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today the results came back from the Ord Exams I wrote in August.
