{"id":485,"date":"2009-11-02T12:08:03","date_gmt":"2009-11-02T20:08:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/messofpottage.com\/blog\/?p=485"},"modified":"2009-11-02T12:08:03","modified_gmt":"2009-11-02T20:08:03","slug":"macbook-optical-audio-port","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/accretiondisc.com\/blog\/2009\/11\/02\/macbook-optical-audio-port\/","title":{"rendered":"MacBook Optical Audio Port"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve had a strange problem occur with my new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.everymac.com\/systems\/apple\/macbook_pro\/stats\/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2.26-aluminum-13-mid-2009-sd-firewire-800-unibody-specs.html\">MacBook<\/a>: it fails to recognize when my headphones are in the audio port. The result is that the sound continues to come out of the laptop speakers.<\/p>\n<p>This has only happened a couple of times, all in the last week. (Since i upgraded to the 9.02 (25) version of iTunes. Possibly a coincidence.)<\/p>\n<p>I can fix it by rebooting, but &#8230; good grief. If I wanted to fix things by rebooting all the time, I&#8217;d have kept my Windows computer.<\/p>\n<p>The second time this anomaly occurred, I asked my research assistant, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?hl=en&#038;q=macbook.pro+audio+port&#038;aq=f&#038;oq=&#038;aqi=\">Mr. Google<\/a>, to find out if it was just me.
