Demonstrating a fine grasp of priorities, I immediately quit writing my sermon and set it up. Unfortunately, it didn&#8217;t take too long, because (in my experience) Macs &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/getamac\/works.html\">just work<\/a>.&#8221; It found the wireless network without being asked, and the drivers for my <a href=\"http:\/\/h10010.www1.hp.com\/wwpc\/us\/en\/sm\/WF05a\/18972-236251-236261-14438-f51-372334.html\">printer<\/a> were installed with the part of the OS.<\/p>\n<p>I installed <a href=\"http:\/\/developer.apple.com\/tools\/xcode\/\">Xcode<\/a> so I could compile <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macports.org\/\">macports<\/a> (nee darwinports), neither of which took very long, so within an hour I was all out of excuses and had to get back to work on my sermon.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow I have to install <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/mac\/products\/office2004\/office2004.aspx?pid=office2004\">Office<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.accordancebible.com\/\">Accordance<\/a>. (I&#8217;m bringing them in from home. No, I&#8217;m not pirating software. I&#8217;m discontinuing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.everymac.com\/systems\/apple\/ibook\/stats\/ibook_800_2.html\">iBook<\/a>, since my linux box has become the main home machine.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My beautiful new 17&#8243; iMac arrived this afternoon.
